Welcome to Julie Off Duty!

Here I am on the terrace of the Burj in Dubai.

So, I’m sitting on my sofa at home, eating six too many bite-sized tie-dye cupcakes from Baked by Melissa and trying to figure out how to start my first post. Yeah, I could start with where I grew up and all that, but that’s so cliché. I could start by telling you and how I started doing nails, but that you can scope out on my personal website (www.juliekandalec.com). Let's get to the good stuff!

I meant to start this website years ago (five to be exact, but really, who’s counting? Well, me, obvi). With some very fun trips and events happening like a surprise vacation overseas, awards season, my first trip to Paris, a beauty tour to India, and a brand new apartment, I decided to jump in (pedicured) feet first. They’re pastel pink, by the way. 

So, what can you expect to read (and see) on Julie Off Duty?

Since I travel more in a year than most people do in a lifetime (Maldives, Dubai, Cannes, Bologna, Miami, and Los Angeles in the first half of this year alone), I get a lot of questions about destinations & how to get there, solo female travel ideas, and beauty tips while deep in exotic places like the Amazon. I’ve got you covered. I'm here to help by sharing my experiences and tips with you!

Also as a celebrity manicurist in NYC, there are countless nail and beauty tips (as well as posts or vlogs of some!) I want to share with you! And don’t worry - I’ll be sure to take lots of photos along the way too.
